Carl Simon Adorf
Biography
Dr. Adorf obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2019 where he developed machine learning approaches for materials inverse design and the analysis of crystallization pathways of colloidal materials. As part of that work he invented the signac data and workflow management framework (https://signac.io) which since then has seen widespread adoption within research groups in the U.S. and Europe. Subsequently he joined the group of Nicola Marzari at EPFL in Lausanne where he is involved with the H2020 MarketPlace project. In that capacity he develops the AiiDAlab simulation web environment, contributes to the AiiDA informatics platform (https://aiida.net), and is part of the Materials Cloud development team (https://materialscloud.org).
