SUMMARY:Performance Portable Space Filling Curve Algorithms for Efficient
Mesh Management in Mars with Kokkos.
DESCRIPTION:Minisymposium\n\nPerformance Portable Space Filling Curve Algo
rithms for Efficient Mesh Management in Mars with Kokkos.\n\nGanellari, Fi
nk, Fadel, Zulian\n\nMars is an open-source mesh management library featur
ing parallel mesh generation, conforming mesh data-structure, mesh quality
estimators, and performance-portable algorithms and data-structures. It t
argets multi-core CPUs and GPUs using the C++ Kokkos programming model. Th
e mesh is constructed and stored on the device (GPU), enabling further ope
rations to be performed directly on the device. Performance portable space
filling curves algorithms for efficient mesh management are at the core o
f the library. This allows for efficient store and access of the leaves of
an octree and offers a direct way to load balance the leaves across proce
sses. Mars covers the use cases of the StagBL discretization library, focu
sed on staggered-grid schemes for geodynamic simulations, at ETH Zurich an
d performance portable matrix free/finite element methods at USI Lugano. S
tagBL is a current PASC project that recently added a new interface to the
Mars library, demonstrating a path to performance portability on leadersh
ip supercomputers.\n\nDomain: CS and Math, Physics, Engineering
