SUMMARY:Exotic Features of Superfluidity in Ultracold Atomic Gases
DESCRIPTION:Minisymposium\n\nExotic Features of Superfluidity in Ultracold
Atomic Gases\n\nMagierski\n\nI will present results of applications of TD
DFT to model superfluid dynamics in ultracold atomic gases. Recent experim
ental achievements in trapping and cooling atomic gases provided a playgro
und to study with great precision various exotic features of superfluidity
far from equilibrium. Theoretical description of such phenomena requires
computationally demanding approach based on TDDFT. In the talk I will disc
uss creation and decay of solitonic excitations appearing as a result of a
tomic cloud collisions, as well as interplay between spin-polarization and
superfluidity which lead to the appearance of novel excitation modes. Las
t but not least, dynamics of quantum vortices, which lie at the heart of q
uantum turbulence phenomenon, will be presented. These results have been o
btained within PRACE Tier-0 grants executed on Piz Daint system.\n\nDomain
