SUMMARY:Superfluid Dynamics in the Neutron Star Crust
DESCRIPTION:Minisymposium\n\nSuperfluid Dynamics in the Neutron Star Crust
\n\nSekizawa, Bulgac, Wlazłowski, Magierski, Roche\n\nI will describe
efforts related to studies of superfluid dynamics in the neutron star cru
st and its relation to the phenomenon known as neutron star glitch, whose
mechanism is still an unsolved debatable problem in nuclear astrophysics.
It has been suggested, more than 40 years ago, that glitches may be caused
by a catastrophic rearrangement of a huge number of superfluid vortices i
n the inner crust of a neutron star. To unveil the origin of glitches, his
group performed fully-microscopic simulations based on the superfluid TDD
FT. To our knowledge, it was the world-first dynamic 3D simulation for the
vortex-nucleus system, with an explicit treatment of nucleonic degrees of
freedom. He will present results obtained with the help of Japaneses HPC
systems, like TSUBAME3.0.\n\nDomain: CS and Math, Physics
