SUMMARY:ExaSeis: Seismic Wave Propagation and Earthquake Modelling in the
 ExaHyPE Engine
DESCRIPTION:Minisymposium\n\nExaSeis: Seismic Wave Propagation and Earthqu
ake Modelling in the ExaHyPE Engine\n\nBader, Rannabauer, Gabriel\n\nExaHy
PE is an engine to solve hyperbolic PDE systems using high-order discontin
uous Galerkin discretisation with ADER time stepping. In this talk, we pre
sent models for seismic wave propagation and earthquake dynamics developed
in ExaHyPE. ExaHyPE works on tree-structured dynamically adaptive Cartesi
an meshes. Using curvilinear interpolation we align Cartesian meshes to su
rfaces in the complication domain, such as topography or fault geometry. W
e will present evaluation of the curvilinear and dynamic rupture models on
various benchmarks, and will show first results obtained for the pilot de
monstrator scenarios developed in the ChEESE centre of excellence. We will
also show first results on using ExaHyPE with the MIT Uncertainty Quantif
ication library.\n\nDomain: CS and Math, Solid Earth Dynamics
