SUMMARY:The Mexican Geospatial Data Cube for Natural Resources Mapping
DESCRIPTION:Minisymposium\n\nThe Mexican Geospatial Data Cube for Natural 
 Resources Mapping\n\nMerodio\n\nEarth Observation has demonstrated an abil
 ity to support local and national decision making and the Sustainable Deve
 lopment Goals (SDGs) through a number of successful country-level Open Dat
 a Cube (ODC) initiatives around the world. Country demand has shown that M
 exico, with the support and involvement of key stakeholders and a proven i
 mplementation approach, created an open, sovereign and operational Data Cu
 be. With in-country expertise in data analysis, The National Institute of 
 Statistics and Geography of Mexico has created the Geospatial Data Cube a 
 tool for integrating statistical and raster data for use and management fo
 r evidence-based policy, decisions and action. The presentation will focus
  on the computational and technical challenges that were solved to have an
  operational Geospatial Data Cube as well as the challenges that still rem
 ain in order to provide timely data to our users. While data and technolog
 y is available from many sources around the world, there are still signifi
 cant challenges with data access, data preparation, and capacity building.
  A cloud-based satellite, and non-satellite, data solution built with open
  source software and using analysis-ready data would significantly benefit
