SUMMARY:Building Community through xSDK Software Policies
DESCRIPTION:Minisymposium\n\nBuilding Community through xSDK Software Poli
cies\n\nLuszczek, Yang\n\nThe development of increasingly complex Hardware
and software ecosystems continues unabated with ever more heterogeneous d
esigns. Both the multiphysics modeling simulations and thecoupling of mode
ling and data analytics applications require more than ever the combined u
se of software packages developed by diverse, independent, and diverse tea
ms drawn from the vast HPC community. With this backdrop, the Extreme-scal
e Scientific Software Development Kit (xSDK) is being developed in o
rder to provide an convergent infrastructure of independently-developed ma
thematical libraries to support productive and efficient creation of high-
quality scientific applications. This presentation will provide extensive
details on the development and the impact of the xSDK community policies,
which constitute an integral part of the project and were defined to achie
ve improved code quality and many-to-many compatibility across the xSDK me
mber packages as well as a sustainable software ecosystem for future devel
opment and addition of new members.\n\nDomain: CS and Math, Emerging Appli
cations, Chemistry and Materials, Climate and Weather, Solid Earth Dynamic
 s, Life Sciences, Engineering
