 lows\n\nHaus, Haine\n\nMoving data through memory has been recognized as a
  central performance bottleneck in the exascale era. This is of particular
  relevance when coupling multiple applications in workflows, where quite o
 ften I/O to disc in serialized form, or specialized domain-specific applic
 ation couplers are two extremes enabling data exchange. Maestro is a EU pr
 oject that aims at developping a memory- and data-aware middleware for dat
 a movement orchestration within workflows. We will discuss how to enable e
 fficient applications coupling in that context, in particular through the 
 management of the pool of resources each of these applications contributes
