SUMMARY:Generating Large Networks with the CoMet Combinatorial Metrics App
 lication
DESCRIPTION:Minisymposium\n\nGenerating Large Networks with the CoMet Comb
inatorial Metrics Application\n\nJoubert\n\nIn this talk we describe CoMet
, an application used to identify networks of similarity relationships bet
ween elements in large quantities of data. It is applicable to problems in
many science domains and can be used for problems representable in terms
of vector similarity measures. CoMet has been run on some of the fastest c
omputer systems in the world and has achieved orders of magnitude performa
nce gain for some of its targeted problems. In this talk we discuss the co
mputational aspects of CoMet and present results from its use in areas suc
h as genomics and climate data analysis.\n\nDomain: CS and Math, Emerging
Applications, Chemistry and Materials, Climate and Weather, Life Sciences
