SUMMARY:Incorporating General Relativity and Radiation into N-Body Simulat
 ions
DESCRIPTION:Minisymposium\n\nIncorporating General Relativity and Radiatio
n into N-Body Simulations\n\nHannestad\n\nBy far the majority of all cosmo
logical N-body simulations are Newtonian in nature. However, it is possibl
e to make such simulations consistent with general relativity by adding a
few ingredients: The equation of motion of particles must receive relativi
stic corrections, and any relativistic energy density and pressure present
much be added at both the background and perturbation levels. Both effect
s play an important role only on very large scales which are well describe
d by linear perturbation theory and therefore it is possible to incorporat
e then in the actual simulation by realising them on a grid using a linear
theory calculations with codes such as CLASS or CAMB. In the talk I will
describe the numerical setup of such simulations performed with the CONCEP
T and PKDGRAV3 codes, as well as numerical results, limitations of the met
hod and possible future lines of investigation.\n\nDomain: Physics
